New Verses on the I Ching: The Book of Changes (Hexagrams 1–8)

The Poetry of Change

We’re excited to announce the launch of a new series on Integral Magic dedicated to the I Ching, the ancient Chinese classic of wisdom and divination. In this poetic and contemplative series, each of the 64 hexagrams is reinterpreted through the lens of elemental symbolism and integral philosophy.

Rather than simply offering traditional meanings, each post reveals a short verse inspired by the hexagram’s trigrams—the elemental forces that compose its structure—and a distilled interpretation of its energetic pattern. These reflections are meant to be both meditative and practical: invitations to insight, not just fortune-telling.

The first part of the series is now live, covering Hexagrams 1 through 8, including:

  • Hexagram 1: The Creative (☰ over ☰) – A force of pure generativity.
  • Hexagram 2: The Receptive (☷ over ☷) – Grounded openness and support.
  • Hexagram 3: Difficulty at the Beginning – Chaos births potential.
  • Hexagram 4: Youthful Folly – The necessity of guidance.
  • Hexagram 5: Waiting – Trusting divine timing.
  • Hexagram 6: Conflict – Tension reveals truth.
  • Hexagram 7: The Army – Direction through discipline.
  • Hexagram 8: Holding Together – The power of unity.

Each verse draws from the imagery of Heaven, Earth, Water, Wind, Lake, Thunder, and Mountain, bringing new life to these archetypal patterns.

Visit integralmagic.com to explore the first 8 hexagrams and begin your journey with the Oracle. This is more than a reading—it’s a path into the soul of change itself.

Stay tuned for Part Two, featuring Hexagrams 9–16.
